Important to Me

Many issues affect education today, but in my eyes something that is very important to me is that fact that so many teachers just label children bad! If they have maybe just a little more energy then they are just horrible children. My brother was moved from pre-school to pre-school because his teachers couldn't handle him. Later on my brother was tested for various learning disabilities, he has mild asbergers syndrome, ADHD, and ODD. It is important to me for every child to have a fair and right chance in education. I don't believe in bad children! That's Important to me!

A student with a learning disability is just as frustrated as the teacher!!!!!

  1. I have to agree with you. Some teachers just give up too quickly, or don't even put forth effort to help students succeed. Your brother shouldn't have had to move for school to school. Someone should have stepped forward to help your brother. You're going to make a great teacher one day with that goal in mind.

  3. I believe that watching how children progress at an early age is a part of the teachers job. They are there to help the child, not hinder them. By sending the child from school to school it does more damage than helping the child. Instead of shipping them away they should try to figure out what to do to help that child.

  4. I agree. A very iportant part of being a teacher is having patience. It is very important for teachers to try their best to help each student achieve and be the best they can be. Young children especially have a lot of energy, as teachers we should approach this with enthusiam and use it as an opportunity to get the children involved.

  5. You are so right. It is so easy to just label a kid or push them to the side if they aren't as easy to care for. Your point makes a lot of sense. I like the picture you chose, it is very accurate to what many kids with learning disabilities feel.
